On 7 October 2017 in Lahore, Pakistan, UNAWE Student Ambassadors Yumna and Saif organised a space science and lunar observation outreach event at Pakistan Sweet Homes NGO. There were over 200 children of ages 4 to 12 years old and management staff was present as well.
As the children viewed the lunar surface, they expressed their desire to visit the Moon one day. It was explained that to go there, you have to become an astronaut. This got everyone enthusiastic to become one. Many other entertaining questions were asked regarding the Moon, like whether there have been any human visits. “The real funny moment was when the children asked us whether we had gone to the Moon ourselves.”

As in earlier outreach events, the lecture was concluded with a short quiz. “Conducting these quizzes helps us ensure that whatever we teach, the students are able to comprehend it.”
The lunar observation session was performed using a Meade NG70-SM telescope provided by Mr. Roshaan Bukhari.
